Shamrock Spinach & Cheese Puff Pastry Tarts

These festive Shamrock Spinach & Cheese Puff Pastry Tarts are the perfect St. Patrick’s Day treat! Made with flaky, golden-brown puff pastry and filled with a creamy blend of spinach, mozzarella, and Parmesan, they bring a deliciously cheesy bite to your celebration. Whether served as an appetizer, snack, or party centerpiece, these shamrock-shaped delights are sure to be a lucky hit!

Ingredients:

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped (or frozen, thawed, and drained)
  • ½ cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup Amish shredded mozzarella (or Sharp cheddar for extra flavor!)
  • ¼ cup Amish Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg yolk + 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the filling: In a bowl, mix spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, garlic, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Cut the puff pastry: Roll out the puff pastry and use a shamrock-shaped cookie cutter to cut out shamrocks. If you don’t have a cutter, cut 3 small circles and one stem shape, then pinch them together to form a shamrock.
  4. Fill the tarts: Place a spoonful of the cheese-spinach mixture in the center of each shamrock.
  5. Brush with egg wash: Lightly brush the pastry edges with the egg yolk + milk mixture for a golden finish.
  6. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
  7. Serve warm & enjoy!

Tip: Add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or chopped chives on top for extra flavor!
